My initial thought when getting this adorable wooden helicopter/airplane toy was that it would be perfect for my two daughters to incorporate into their pretend play. I envisioned them using the bear or even replacing the bear with their peg dolls for added versatility. Unfortunately, upon receiving the toy, I realized that the bear is not removable, which was disappointing. This limits its potential for imaginative play, as my daughters won’t be able to customize it with their peg dolls or other small figures.The bear itself is cute, made of wood with engraved facial features, and he’s securely placed—definitely not going anywhere. While this does make the toy sturdier, it also takes away some of the creative flexibility I was hoping for.That said, one cute feature is that you can customize or adjust the ‘wings.’ They’re attached by a rope and can be moved up, down, or left open on the sides. This adds a small interactive element that my kids might enjoy.Because of this, I think I’ll turn this into a stocking stuffer for my 3-month-old instead. While he’s too young to use it now, I can see it being a great toy for him to push around and explore as he gets older. My daughters may still play with it here and there, but it doesn’t fully meet my expectations for a Montessori-style toy that encourages open-ended, imaginative play.That said, it’s well-made, lightweight, and painted in soft, neutral colors. If the non-removable bear isn’t an issue for you, it’s a solid little toy. For us, it’s a bit of a mixed bag.
